The Useful Gift

Stemming from childhood, “useful” gifts have received a bad rap. Eight-year old don’t get excited about socks under the Christmas tree, and fourty year olds much prefer cars and diamonds over a mortgage payment or dental visit.
However, useful gifts can be wonderful if both receiver and giver realize the gift’s value:
- Useful gifts can cut down on clutter; do you really need another trinket to stand around?
- Useful gifts can solve a significant problem; if you are in desperate need of a haircut or new tires, those might be just the perfect birthday or holiday presents.
Couples who are married or live together can also resort to getting their significant other, who doesn’t really need anything, a gift that makes the home a better place to live. For example; Window Blinds or window coverings can actually be a nice gift if as a result your livingroom (or bedroom!) becomes cozier and fun to spend time together in.

Don’t be afraid to give a useful gift, and be happy if someone is thoughtful enough to give you one! Whether it’s blinds, a handbag, a frying pan or a new pair of glasses.
