My Greatest Newly-Wed Fear

I think I am started to beat my husband in the blogging game… he’s written 2 blog posts, I have now written three.
OK, down to business. My greatest fear as a newly-wed is getting in debt. I have seen how money troubles often leads to divorce, which as a consequence leads to even greater personal financial depression! I’ve just discovered another way people get in debt; by getting into accidents. In our society, where litigation is more often encouraged than not, many people take a gamble on a major payoff from a long-shot lawsuit. Now, there is a new lending-instrument to help those couples pay for their legal bills: Lawsuit Finance. Those who think to have a good case, can actually borrow funding for the lawsuit against their (potential) payouts.
In all fairness; I would rather have hubby-dear sign up for this service, than have him max out our bank accounts and credit cards. He is not as careful with money as I am (hence my greatest fear), and is far more eager to spend than save. He easily spends $20 on lunch or snacks and coffee throughout the day. I think this is insane, adds up and if it doesn’t lead to debt, it may at the very least take a big slice out of our retirement-cake.
Let’s just hope we never need a lawsuit, but if we do… I’ll rather borrow against possible gains than borrow against our house!
