Meddling in-Laws

Books, articles and entire text-books are written about human relationships. One of the most central relationship issues modern couples face are the in-laws. We are not immune to it either, although my in-laws at least live across the Atlantic. However, that does not mean we are safe.
My mother-in-law, although she is a wonderful lady, is dead set on taking a big family vacation together. This may seem nice, but the problem is that I know she will be calling the shots. Starting at where we are going, where we will stay and what we should and should not eat.
She called me yesterday telling me she was looking into flights to Thailand. I can’t help but think that maybe, just maybe, hubby managed to get through to her and beam to his alien-mom that going to Scandinavia does not really turn us on in the winter. So, although this will be two intensive weeks of in-law-action, if we can at least endure it on a Thai beach, I can be OK with it.
